Identifying the Building Blocks of China’s Information Campaigns seeks to explain the sources of data and technologies that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) relies on to build information campaigns. The research presented on this website identifies both PRC state-owned and nominally private entities linked to the PRC’s expansive propaganda system across four thematic areas, which we argue are linked to a broader strategy to develop data harvesting capabilities to support targeted messaging and the development of technologies used in the conduct of information operations. This website illustrates the nature of those relationships, with the objective of improving transparency on this complex subject.
